As befits his Golden Age premiere, 24K gilding imparts a luxurious sepia tone to illustrator Alan Quah and sculptor Ghim Ong's spirited take, with Jack Kirby, Joe Sinnott, Stan Goldberg and Artie Simek's cover art providing support in black and white.
The Stone Men of Saturn, arriving to invade Earth, have failed to count on Thor coming to the planet's defence. Exquisitely modeled, the God of Thunder prepares to unleash his war hammer Mjölnir to send the aliens packing, in an issue that presents his origin story.
Alan Quah is a respected illustrator in the international comics and collectibles communities. Ghim Ong's strong interest in 3D sculpting has led to his working on Marvel, DC and Disney properties.
